Author Bio
Amy Heebner is a screenwriter, playwright and academician based in New York City. Her first script, Missing Data, placed as a Finalist in the New Century Writer screenplay competition. She was the recipient of a private grant for writing (2008-2013). Four of her scripts were presented before an audience at the performance facility of the Dramatists Guild of America in New York City, produced by her company in collaboration with Friday Night Footlights. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.

Dr. Heebner has completed other screenplays and stage plays, and a short memoir published in a limited edition for family and friends. Her academic writing comprises over 40 publications including research reports, papers for juried conferences, 2 journal articles, chapters in 2 edited books, and articles in educational publications.

Dr. Heebner lived and worked in Canton Zurich, Switzerland, where she resided for 4 years with her Swiss husband, Ruedi Kaegi. While there she studied German and completed a Goethe Institute Certificate in German as a Foreign Language. She was Adjunct Faculty at City University of Seattle in Zurich, Switzerland, where she taught English Composition and Management Presentation Skills.
She has worked at 2 other universities including Columbia University Teachers College, where she was a Senior Research Associate on a federally-funded evaluation project. She holds a Certificate in Screenwriting from New York University. She studied Educational Theatre in England as part of her Masters degree at New York University. She has also worked as an actress, visual artist and free-lance videographer.
